The Scoop Reports Activity in Dublin from the End of March to May Day.
The First Scoop: A wall plastered with images of children who suffered abuse at the hands of priests and members of the clergy. They will be visible throughout 2012. The moving and evocative piece highlights the most innocent victims of sexual crimes. The piece was created by artist and outspoken champion for victims of child abuse Mannix Flynn.
The Second Scoop: The Sovereignty March that took place in Dublin last week flooding through the city. Nobody really covered this but as you can see the protesters involved were very agitated and I am glad we got some record of the day. It really did cause a stir.
The Third Scoop: Was a surprise to us and the people who experienced it. We thought it was the last Celtic Tiger trying to make a quick buck. After the performance the man told me that he was trying to earn enough money to re-decorate a mouldy room for the coming of his new baby. He lost his job just after Christmas and has been trying everything to keep his family going.
The Fourth Scoop: During St Patricks Day when we were having dinner inside a restaurant we noticed an old woman standing still for a long, long time. At first we thought maybe she was waiting on someone but then realised that no taxi would stop to pick her up. She was too tired to walk anywhere else. Then when a taxi did pull up the man did not want to help her into the car due to 'Health and Safety' so we left our food and helped her get a taxi who would bring her the small journey she had to go home.
We hope you enjoy all the Mini Reports and maybe give us a vote,
